Our culture

Experience a culture built on trust, inclusion and shared ways of working, where people feel supported, valued and able to do their best work.
Everyone belongs here

At QBE, you are at the heart of what we do. When people feel respected, safe, supported, and able to be themselves, it creates better experiences for everyone, from the people we work with to the customers and communities we support.

Inclusion plays a key role in this. By valuing different perspectives and lived experiences, we learn from one another, work more collaboratively, and find better ways to grow and innovate together.

This approach shapes how we work, how we support one another, and how we create opportunities for people to develop and thrive. It is part of the behaviours and values that guide us every day.
What diversity and inclusion mean at QBE

We take a broad view of diversity that recognises both visible and invisible layers that make each of us unique. This includes gender, age, culture, race, disability, neurodiversity, sexual orientation, caring responsibilities, life stage, values, experiences and ways of thinking.

Inclusion means creating the conditions where everyone:

  • Feels safe to speak up
  • Is treated fairly and with respect
  • Has equitable access to opportunities
  • Feels a genuine sense of belonging

For us, diversity is not just about representation. It is about belonging. It is about making sure people feel accepted, valued and able to contribute fully.

OUR CORE VALUE

These are our six core values, and they guide and shape teh way we do business.

Our data-driven approach

To make sure inclusion leads to real change, we listen to people and track our progress over time. What you choose to share helps us understand what is working well and where we can improve.

You may have opportunities to share information at different points across your employee lifecycle, such as during job applications, surveys, internal systems, or through employee networks. This is always your choice. You can decide what information to share, when to share it, or not to share at all.

Any information you choose to provide helps us shape more inclusive ways of working and create better experiences for everyone.
Employee networks and lived experience

Our employee led networks connect people through shared lived experience and local priorities, with a focus on inclusion, accessibility, mental health, wellbeing, family support, culture and sustainability.

Through these networks, you can share your experience and skills to help build connection, shape inclusive practices, raise awareness, and create safe spaces for learning and support. They also offer opportunities to grow your skills, build networks, and connect with others.

While networks vary by region and focus, they all play an important role in helping people feel seen, heard, and supported at QBE.

Recognition and accountability

We are proud to be recognised globally for our work in diversity, equity and inclusion. While recognition matters, accountability matters most. We listen to our people, learn from their experiences and continue to improve. Diversity and inclusion at QBE is an ongoing commitment, not a finished state.
