Across the UK and Europe, QBE offers different ways to start your career. Each pathway is designed to help you learn, build skills and grow at a pace that works for you.
- Work experience - short placements, usually one to four weeks in July or August, offered through schools, community groups and industry partners. You will gain hands-on experience, learn new skills and see what a career at QBE can look like.
- Internships - paid summer and placement-year roles starting in September, where you do real work with real responsibility. You will be supported by your team while building skills across areas such as actuarial, finance and underwriting. We also aim to convert high‑performing Actuarial and Finance interns into permanent entry‑level roles, supporting them to continue and complete their professional qualifications as they build long‑term careers with us.
- Apprenticeships - paid roles that combine on-the-job learning with formal study and professional qualifications. You will follow a clear development pathway, with support from mentors and opportunities to build a long-term career at QBE.

OUR CORE VALUE
These are our six core values, and they guide and shape teh way we do business.
Graduate programs
In the UK and Europe, our approach to graduate opportunities is deliberately flexible and skills‑led. Rather than running a fixed annual graduate programme, we launch Skills of the Future intakes when and where we identify priority capability needs across the business. As a result, opportunities vary year‑on‑year by location, discipline and skill focus.
Alongside this, we recruit graduates directly into permanent business‑as‑usual roles, offering them the opportunity to join our Early Careers community for ongoing development, networking and support.
A sense of mutual respect and mindfulness permeates our culture-in fact, it’s the key to our success.
